In mid-October we learned that Blackbyrd was going to become a Vietnamese Restaurant and Pho house. They’re going to open up on Nov. 25th and will likely be called the Hanoi House. Here’s a sneak peek at the menu created by Executive Chef James Claudio and his Vietnamese grandmother, Lap Claudio:

Wow. That's horrible. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. Did she not thin you...
thanks for writing citykids! great addition!
I live a block away from that corner too... and it's the one area I try to avoid passing...
Rant: a friend of mine cancelled on our plans to go to a play this afternoon because she...
you do live in a transitional neighborhood. news like this is rough, but it shouldn't be...
can’t wait!!!
Oh, now THIS is exciting. Very, very exciting. And it’s always good to see a chef invoking/involving his grandma in the menu. Good ethnic food place > hipster bar that always smelled like fish.
This is a welcome change. The old place always seemed to be lacking identity. It was basically Marvin Jr.
love this menu. lots of vegetarian options. welcome addition to the hood. are they going to deliver?
Hopefully it will be livelier with Blackbyrd, with better price points for that corner…hangover food rules at that intersection.
*than* Blackbyrd.
Wait. The Hanoi House… by the Hilton brothers… doesn’t that make it the Hanoi Hilton? Is that supposed to be a joke?
I heard the name is actually going to be Hanoi Cyclo (ceeclow)
Huh,umm! My father has been in Hanoi Hilton for 342 days (was shot down during xmas 1972, released Jan 17, 1973, according Paris truce. Abandoned South Vietnam ally) with awful menu (i.e steam rice with salt and cockroach, rat). Definitely he will be there on the grand opening to check it out.
Cannot wait to try!
