  • Why isn’t there a 1 before this price?

  • Other 4brs in that area are selling for 750-900k. This house is over 1700sf and in a very good school zone. It’s totally liveable though the kitchen and bath haven’t been updated that recently or expensively. Unless an inspection turns up mold or termites or something, I think it’s an extremely good deal for a family committed to staying in DC and who doesn’t mind driving. I bet it gets a lot of offers.

    • The traffic is a fair point, but a house on the same block sold for $899 this summer and one a block over sold for $825, according to Redfin. So I maintain this is a great deal and they’re probably trying to start a bidding war. Or it’s haunted.

Heck, even if it’s haunted I’d buy it at that price. If I could afford it. Which I can’t.

  • Great deal. Unless something is really wrong with the place. I bet it is the only single family 4br house under 750k in the 20015 zip code. My wife and I watched this zip code for 18 months and finally accepted defeat, nothing close to our budget. It will go fast. I am sure they already have a full price offer in hand.

  • Went to the open house this past weekend. While it’s dated, it’s certainly livable. My main issue in addition to the traffic was that there’s alsmost no backyard compared to other houses in the neighborhood and that there’s no central AC – DC summers are way too hot to spend that much money on a hosue with no AC!

  • This is a silly price…. It will go for way more than this. This is a half block from a very regular bus line that turns north from Military and goes directly to Friendship Heights Metro. I would expect somewhere around $750,000+, likely 800,000+, especially with interest rates in the low 3′s.

  • Considering what prices are in Petworth, this place seems like quite the deal in comparison.

  • I wonder if they priced it low so a bidding war would ensue.
