Congrats to DAVID GROSSO for defeating the lazy, corrupt, and ineffective Michael Brown, who only won his seat originally by running as an Independent against a no-name Republican (after Carol Schwartz was ousted by Patrick Mara) with his daddy’s (Ron Brown, of Clinton era fame) political machine behind him. This was a great example of grass roots politics winning! Now go out there and clean up DC gov, David.
Absolutely. That was a nice surprise. Brown was worthless.
Very pleased about the David Grosso victory.
It’s a good news story. But we have a lot more work to do and he’s going to need our support next time around.

Anthony Cimino destroyed Lenwood Johnson. That guy is gone from 1A forever. You have a white yuppie who got other whites to join with blacks to unseat a dug in marion barryesque dude who’s been there 20 years. Even with the sex calls they have never gotten rid of him.

Dan Wittels’ crushing last-place finish among the four candidates in the ANC B1-12 race, where he earned barely 11 percent of the vote, puts squarely to rest the idea that the “Shaw Dupont Citizens Alliance” speaks for that neighborhood or that the neighborhood in any way supports the draconian measures the SDCA would impose on both it and the broader U Street community to stop development dead in its tracks — including the SDCA’s proposed and far-reaching liquor license moratorium. If Mr. Wittels, a vocal and founding board member of SDCA, cannot even garner support from his own immediate neighbors for ANC rep, how can the organization that has fronted his candidacy claim that it speaks for anyone beyond its own tiny membership?
The SDCA and that man have about as much support in our neighborhood as Mitt Romney.
