TAAN, a modern Asian noodle shop, Coming Soon to Adams Morgan

1817 Columbia Rd, NW

Last week I shared some sweet Columbia Rd scuttlebutt about the former home of Evolve, Marrakech Lounge, and briefly Mudbugz at 1817 Columbia Rd, NW. I had heard that the folks from Toki Underground could be opening up in the space. City Paper’s Jessica Sidman found out the restaurant will be called TAAN. Their Website : says

TAAN, a modern Asian noodle shop inspired by traditional izakayas and ramen shops, will be opening up late October.

Executive Chef Jonathan Bisagni has composed a menu that will consist of kushiyaki, onigiri, various small plates, and three types of ramen: pork based, duck based, and vegetarian.

With work stints at Kushi Izakaya and Sushi, Morimoto Waikiki, Sticky Rice (RVA,DC, and Baltimore), and Toki Underground diners can expect a well-executed, young perspective of the Asian dining world.

So I wasn’t totally off 🙂 Looking forward to trying more noodles in Adams Morgan! TAAN will join Sakuramen which opened nearby at 2441 18th St, NW in late May.
