Maga Design Group Taking over former Design Within Reach Space in Adams Morgan
1838 Columbia Road, NW
Looks like the retail space in the great building at 1838 Columbia Rd, NW has a new tenant. Formerly home to Design Within Reach, a new permit has been posted saying it will be home to the Maga Design Group:
“We have pioneered the co-creation of visual information maps for technology and business leaders – integrating their strategies, frameworks, metaphors, and visuals – to build powerful communications tools that address today’s business information challenges.”
Back in March 2011 rent was going for $18,000 per month…

Would have preferred a banana republic but this is fine too. i’m sure the storefront will look cool at least.
Let’s see…not an overpriced chain furniture store, not another bar, not some mediocre overpriced restaurant. ar from the worst that could happen.
This business will probably contribute more to the tax base, via payroll taxes and taxes charged for their services, than any of those other options you listed.
MGD – a great acronym indeed – will surely enjoy that space as much as they will the landlord. I hear he’s a gem.
