1800 L Street, NW
Back in June we first heard the possibility that a Nordstrom Rack could be coming to the former Borders space at the corner of 18th and L St, NW. WBJ’s Michael Neibauer shares the INSN word that Nordstrom Rack is indeed coming:
“1800 L St. NW: Nordstrom Rack is on its way. An alteration permit was issued for renovations to the former Border’s location at 18th and L streets. The store will sell men’s and women’s clothing, shoes and accessories.”

Anons @1:40pm - Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I especially
love where you said "Yet...
Jessica is right on. The new valet situation has made T street much more passable. I...
This location is cursed. Buyer beware... Unless you actually make good food.
better yet, go there and learn for yourself.
That paint job is tight.
This is AWESOME NEWS.
+100!!!
Yes! I needed a substitute for Filene’s Basement in the neighborhood.
I’ve heard good things about NR, but have never been. So it’s a good replacement for Filene’s Basement? If so, this is the best. news. ever.
(And by “ever”, I mean “since DSW came to CH”.)
Nordstrom Rack is better than Filenes, in my opinion. Nicer labels, better organized, more shoes!!!
Good news, and it will help take away the sting of losing Borders.
i work in that office building; i will soon be broke from all the shopping breaks I will be taking
This is good.
YESSSSS! I have been addicted to the Rack since my first visit to the store out in San Diego. With the opening of NR in Pentagon City, Buffalo Exchange in Logan Circle and the wonderful additions to the Penn Quarter neighborhood (JCrew, Anthropologie and Lou Lou) DC is slowly emerging out of its nasty reputation of some of the most conservatively, worst dressed on the East Coast!
DC is far from the worst dressed city on the East Coast. I invite you to take a trip to Baltimore, Trenton, Camden, Wilmington…need I go on? By “East Coast”, you probably mean “New York City” and probably haven’t lived in DC very long.
I might as well change my address to 18th and L, because I’ll be at Nordstrom Rack so often I might as well just live there. Love it.
I can finally buy clothes again!
