  • This seems like an extremely good deal.

  • wish I could afford it :(

  • It’s lovely, and seems like a good deal. I wonder about the (seemingly) tiny dining room. If I were living there with my spouse and 2.5 children, I’d want 50% more dining room.

  • I truly and unironically love that toile bathroom.

Like Anonymous 1:50, the dining room is awfully small. If it were mine, I’d have to make the back parlor into the dining room and use the dining room as a breakfast room.

  • I want to like this a lot but it has a few things that give me pause. I dislike the porch banister moldings (sorry, loss for correct word right now). Those would work better on a Victorian-style home than on a Wardman-style home, otherwise the outside view looks nice overall. I don’t like that when you stand in the front door you are facing and looking straight into the 1st floor powder room/half-bath. Starts off my impression of the house poorly. The 1st floor, though, looks quite spacious, which is nice, except for when you get to the kitchen. It looks like it’s tucked away, which is sort of strange. Not to mention that it is underwhelming. It feels crammed into the back corner of the house. Yea, I get that it opens to the dining room area and also to the back porch. You don’t have the “infamous” trianglular working space in the kitchen, though I could easily overlook that – what’s a few extra steps. It’s interesting putting the bedrooms on the attic level. I’d like to know how high the ceilings are. Though that isn’t my preference, I guess the rooms could be cozy. I also don’t like that the listing talks about future roof deck. Right now it’s just a roof. If you want to sell the “roof deck” feature, build it up first. But to say “future roof deck” as a talking point or selling point is plain ridiculous. Also, why the Pelle windows? I know Pella is associated with high-end, but if the neighborhood is so quiet, why would Pella windows be installed?

  • I’m from Charleston. There is nothing particularly Charleston-like about the moulding. If they were going for the Charleston look, fail. The designer painted room – augh, my eyes, my eyes. Must have been a sale on toile de Jouy at the wallpaper store. Otherwise, a nice house. Agree that the dining room seems a bit small.

  • it doesn’t necessarily wow me. I’ve seen others in the million plus range (some day I wish!) that I drool over. Maybe it’s the fact I like modern and like to cook/bake (for 1.3 I want a to die for kitchen)…

  • Charleston refers to a particular style of house with porches on every floor usually on the same side of the house with (ideally) flow through ventilation. When I think of interiors in Charleston, I think of osetentatiousness, not good taste.

The kitchen/dining area seems oddly proportioned and the 3rd floor master bedroom would be more impressive with greater height.

    • You need to get down to Charleston more. While the Charleston single house is iconic, we do have houses of this style. Although they don’t look like this one does on the inside. For me Charleston style is a bit colonial, a bit formal, with a dash of Mediterranean, and relies on a small very distinct color palette. Definitely not ostentatious, unless by that you mean snobby. They’ve got the market cornered on snobby down there.

  • I liked this except for the bathroom wallpaper (?) and the “designer” color scheme (of dark orange and light orange) in that one room.

  • Not sure about the ‘formal’ roof access. I prefer to keep it casual myself.

  • Nicely done and fairly priced. Yes, some of the rooms are small – that’s why it’s not $500k more – but they’ve used the space pretty well.
