I hope your prayers are answered.
Our thoughts are with you.
"Boot camp" groups. My hardcore running friends always complain about them. They clog up...
Gathering in one place to show respect for those who served their country is thoughtful....
Don't you have to wait in line just to put your name down, though?
Also, what if I...
IDK …. from the outside, it kind of looks like an apartment complex – or the same bricks they use …
“Contemporary” — to what? It was built in 1966.
The kitchen and bathrooms are more dated than Kim Kardashian, but Beach drive is a great location if you’re not in a flood zone. I love the Mullholland drive style driveway and the church pew in the basement.
Is this listing from 1985? Because that’s the last time this was considered contemporary!
Not a bad layout. But, it needs some serious tlc. Nothing sells homes like pink carpet!
The pink carpet is a very large area rug. The wood floors are actually pretty nice. Still, I wouldn’t want that rug in any listing photos – fugly.
My guess is that someone’s parents’ passed away and the adult kid(s) are looking to sell with minimal fuss.
Plus: Nice big lot. Nice hardwood floors.
Minus: This looks like the Fuhrer’s bunker. Needs a lot of work to modernize it.
Contemporary – circa 1962. I has been so perfectly preserved it’s almost a shame to “update” it. Notice how some of the wood paneling has been painted over – waaa.
You’d think a real estate agent would know the difference between “contemporary” and “Modern.” Actually, maybe you wouldn’t..
That’s a lot of house for $800k and I like that neighborhood quite a bit. Seems in nice shape and I like a lot of the period details. :p
OMG that carpet!
right down the street from my bff’s parents. this is the gold coast y’all… if you don’t know what that means, look it up
I’d call it mid-century modern. It doesn’t have the Googie aspect, but the kitchen and the wierd ceilings are definitely mid-mod. they do need to get rid of that pink rug and some of those ugly curtains, as well as clean up the brick where the grill used to be. If not a death in the family, it may be that the parents have moved to a retirement home and only taken the furnishings that fit a small apartment.
This was when words like ‘Magic Chef’, Princess telephone, carports and patios meant you arrived. Arrived where? Well that’s a whole other story..
Some of the fixes are purely cosmetic but the bathrooms and kitchen need work. However, it sits on a nice lot and is a good size so that is a plus. To get in a more expensive neighborhood buy the “worst” house and then fix it you your taste.
My only two problems. They should have never taken picture with the pink shag area rug (wonder if it is hiding something which might explain was it was left in the pictures) but they should take it up for any open houses – that house is dated enough with out that carpet.
Second, is a comment to realtors – STOP WITH THE SHOUTING IN YOUR LISTING…..AND USING ALL CAPITALS MAKES READING YOUR LISTING HARDER TO READ AND EASIER TO IGNORE.
I think they were smart to leave the pink rug, leave the dated decor and weed out those to dim to look beyond these superficial cosmetic relics. It is a lot of house in a great location (for those who want that location.) They could have redone the kitchen & baths – but why force your own choices of granite, cabinets etc. on someone else? I don’t know the comps, but this seems priced to allow a savvy buyer to spend another 60k and get exactly what they want. It’s a lot easier to buy a new rug than a wooded lot bordering a national park.
