Wow. That's horrible. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. Did she not thin you...
thanks for writing citykids! great addition!
I live a block away from that corner too... and it's the one area I try to avoid passing...
Rant: a friend of mine cancelled on our plans to go to a play this afternoon because she...
you do live in a transitional neighborhood. news like this is rough, but it shouldn't be...
That’s TINY.
hoooowheeee 310 sq ft @170k = $550/sq ft. thats about right for the area… but sheesh… you couldn’t dookie in the bathroom without it stinking up the whole place. *blush* how embarrassing… better eat more fiber.
lol
By far the best comment I’ve seen on PoP
DC, where $170K buys you a closet to go with your kitchen and bathroom.
Bathroom off bedroom looks like the entry to Heaven…
One could rent a similarly-sized, $150/night hotel room for an entire 3.15 years for that price if one wanted to live in a hotel room.
Yeah, it’s teeny tiny but the mortgage+fee on this place would be under $1000. If you’re just looking for a place to flop without housemates (or even with!) I don’t think you can do it any cheaper in this city, let alone for a spot on top of the red line! For some busy-body who only wants a bed this is easily one of the best deals in the city…
I’m actually looking at places in this size range. I don’t spend much time at home so I think I’ll manage with the size. Question for PoPville: I’ve got a decent mattress, do murphy beds provide good support, or am I just asking for years of bad sleep?
It’s all in the mattress — I’ve had a murphy bed now for about 6 months, and I LOVE IT! Check out More Space Place–they have a bunch of cool options. I got a memory foam mattress there, and it’s been the same as sleeping on a standard bed. If you have a good mattress, you should be set — just make sure when you buy a bed that it fits. Some standard mattresses are too thick.
I know you asked generally about the Murphy bed, but in case you’re looking at this place specifically, bear in mind that the building is located right by the fire station, so noise may be a factor.
I think it’s a good deal for someone willing to live in a studio. It would be easy to rent out and make a profit.
