I could do without the “virtually staged” photos; I’d rather see the place empty than with badly Photoshopped fake furniture in it. It’s a cute house though. The hardwood floors are nice and the kitchen is a good size, plus I love the front porch.

kac – I thought something was off in those photos. Guess photoshopping is cheaper than renting the furniture.

Yeah I wondered about them so I checked the MRIS slideshow and in the bottom right corner in faint letters, the furniture photos say “Virtually Staged – SeeItFurnished.com.” First time I’ve ever seen that in a house listing, and it’s really strange looking!

Just my 2 cents…if you can’t even SEE the Metro station within the Google Maps frame, the listing agent is taking some creative license with the “close to Metro” bit. (And yes, I moved the map frame up/down/right/left a bit…closest looks like Brookland, which is not exactly my definition of “close.”)

It’s probably a 15 minute walk from the RI Ave Metro. Could be worse.

Depends on your frame of reference, I guess. A house like this in Northern Virginia would require a five-mile trek across a dangerous highway to walk to the metro (not to mention the house itself would cost twice as much). This seems like a good alternative for someone who’s considering something like that.

This is much like the craftsman bungalow I owned in Atlanta, except that had a somewhat different floor plan, which had been altered over time. The metro access is a joke, but the price seems about right, unless there’s a crack house next door. This area is likely to remain a little off the grid for the foreseeable future but would make sense for someone who wants an affordable house and already expects to be driving to work, etc.Nice sized rooms.

  • aa

That isn’t close to the metro. That is unless you consider a 20 minute walk close.

  • anon

It’s cute. Looks like it would be great for first-timers who drive to work. Street View shows a middle-class neighborhood where people take care of their homes.

Looks like a great house for dog lovers, not the greatest ie. schools but could work for somebody who’s already in at a NE charter.
