Canal Park Ice Rink Coming in November

The new Canal Park at the Navy Yard is looking great. What a surprise when this sign went up yesterday, announcing the new skating rink. Looks like the rink is planning to open up next month!

Wow that’s looking awesome. DC’s becoming an ice rink mecca. I’m also eager to see how the Park Tavern restaurant turns out there.

I tried their kabob last weekend, it was pretty good and a lot of food for the price....
The area inside the ice rink (its set up kind of like a go kart track) is going to be fountains in the summer. They were testing them earlier this week. I assume the restaurant will follow Xavier Cevera’s usual M.O. (Pacifico Cantina comes to mind) but at least it’s another food/drink option down there.
I could use a real ice rink that has decent size. And also a Zamboni that operates before the ice is one large rut.
this area is going to be the best part of the city someday.
Now all we need are freezing temperatures
