so the “bedroom” on the main floor isn’t a bedroom at all. No one wants a bedroom with French doors that you have to walk through to get to the rear patio they’re touting.

It’s a nicely updated 2 bedroom. And for that much in rent, you’re better off getting a better location and more amenities.

    Overpriced.

The 3rd bedroom is really just a room with French doors that leads to the rear patio (aka- an old worn out wooden balcony).

    Way overpriced.

Pass. Way overpriced for Mt. P (no easy Metro access, no nightlife, etc)

    • Anonymous

I agree it’s overpriced but there IS metro access… and it’s quite easy… a three to four block walk and you are at a metro.

      • So, Just Sayin'

Agreed — Go way to the east in Mt. P and you’re in a difficult area for using public transit, but this block of Mt P is really well situated — very short walk to the C Heights Metro, a mere jump away from 16th St lines, and short walk to the 42.

That said, I can’t imagine many people would line up to pay in rent what they could to buy a nice house. That’s more than my mortgage — and I’m paying PMI!

I used to live in the area and it’s further than you think – 15 minutes. Which is fine until the dead of winter and the hottest part of the summer.

3-4 blocks? There’s a map right in the post – please take a look at it and get back to us.

I looked at these places when they were first built – liked the layouts, but didn’t love the block. That was 8 years ago, though, and I haven’t spent much time there in recent years. The block is more like Columbia Heights than Mt. Pleasant.

No easy access to Metro nor nightlife? What on earth are you high on?

      • Anonymous

“Access to metro and nightlife” is directly proportional to the rent you are paying. $1000 a month and you don’t mind walking 20 min. or paying the occasional cab. $2000 a month and you damn well better be on top of everything.

Way overpriced for the seedy part of Mt. P.

  • Mt.PP

I wouldn’t call this part of Mt. P seedy at all. The unit is really nice–I used to live in an identical unit a few doors down. 2100 sq ft for a 3bdrm is rare in the area, having that deck was nice for a bit of outdoor space, plus there was SO much storage space. We payed a bit less in rent, but loved everything about it.

As far as MT PLEASANT GOES, this would be considered the seedy part… As far as DC goes, it’s still a pretty above average area.

I am not going to comment on the price of the rental but will come to the defense of the neighborhood. That block of Brown Street is absolutely, positively NOT seedy. Good friends of mine actually reside on that street and it is extremely safe, quiet and close to the Columbia Heights metro.

  • Anonymous

Washington Property Management is the worst. DO NOT rent this apartment.

  • Anonymous

Nice – but way overpriced for essentially a 2 bedroom unless maybe you offered it furnished for short-term. Group house/apt. share people have lots of better options in the $1,500.00 + per person range, and families wanting to live in Mt.P can do better buying. And it’s a little over half mile to CH metro, not 3-4 blocks.

  • Anonymous

I live right across the street from this place. I really like the neighborhood, and it’s really convenient to metro, the 16th street buses, Adams Morgan, etc, but there is no way I would pay what they’re asking.

  • brienneoftarth

Too expensive, but I will admit that wall color is really nice. A bold choice, but it works.
