The famous 11th street chicken when last spotted in 2008
From the Columbia Heights listserv:
“On Sunday morning, a black chicken was found wandering in the alley between Fairmont and Girard, between 11th and 13th. Did anyone lose a member of their flock during the storm?”
Another member noted that we had spoken about the famous 11th Street chicken (pictured here) back in July 2008. Unfortunately in the past we have discussed the possibility of illegal cock fighting in Columbia Heights. Let’s hope this is just another sighting of the famous 11th Street chicken surveying her domain.

Someone has died. Stop preaching. Wait for the information. Be silent and show some...
Rave: Finally feeling better after a bout of strep.
Rant: That means I had to come...
You need to be careful when another driver says "let's just take care of it ourselves."...
My favorite was last Wednesday's House Porn, where the PoPetariat was pretty unanimously...
Fantastic.
Delicious.
Bok, bok, bok, bok, boook, bok, bok, bok, bok.
Aw, this makes me long for the days of Roscoe the rooster in Takoma Park. No one could catch him.
I sincerely hope this is the dastardly bastard who lives at 1319 Fairmont. I further hope that he never comes home to roost. In the 4 years I have lived on that block, his infernal crowing in the wee hours of the morning has been a thorn in the side to many.
the first comment was so hilarious, where did it go?
Perhaps he’s just making his presence known as it is currently National Chicken Month?
I wonder how he feels about all the chicken bones on the sidewalks??
