It is very surprising. There hasn't been a serious crime in this portion of eckington in...
Wow. That's horrible. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. Did she not thin you...
thanks for writing citykids! great addition!
I live a block away from that corner too... and it's the one area I try to avoid passing...
Rant: a friend of mine cancelled on our plans to go to a play this afternoon because she...
What’s up with the big balls in the backyard. Weird.
Price seems in line for a 3000 sq ft private home in that area of town.
I hope that they’re not Horta eggs …… one for our older readers
Staging for houses on the market is beginning to get out of control in DC… Agents are hiring staging companies to put opulent dressings in houses now so that the houses look more valuable, but all those things don’t convey. It’s hard to look past the staging to see what the place really looks like. If it looks too fancy in pics chances are they’re hiding something. For nearly 2 mil, this house should have a pool and a full featured gym rather than that unsightfully tiny fish pond.
I don’t know about that. I’m looking at the big windows and square footage, not the furnishings, and those things do convey.
3000 square feet, with a pool and a gym, in Dupont/Kalorama, for 2 million? Um, yeah, I want that too. And a pony.
Uh, i know the owners of that house and there was no “staging.” that’s their furniture, art, etc just as it would be if you went over for dinner!
No, this is what you get in this neighborhood: 5 bedrooms and lotsa space with some outdoor areas.
You get the pool and the gym at your beachhouse in Rehomo.
Then No Thanks, I’d much rather buy a house in Petworth with a pool in the back yard and save the other $1Million….
And that is your choice
Petworth is not Dupont in way to many ways to mention.
Hahahaha. Did you just really compare Petworth and Dupont?
Please, go back to Ohio.
My grandmother had EXACTLY those cabinets and hardware in her modest 1950s house! I would feel right at home here.
But so. much. walking. to cook in that kitchen. The ovens are in a different room.
Odd kitchen layout, but I love that breakfast area!
Oh, I love it. So much natural light everywhere. Given the size and fabulous location it actually seems underpriced at $2M. You could probably cover a third of the mortgage renting out the basement and the garage.
“Gourmet Kitch” is the best Freudian slip I’ve heard all year.
Stunning home!
Beautiful!!!!!
Very nice!!! I love the kitchen!
Jogged by this place last night and it actually has really great curb appeal. That whole block is great, though it does get a lot of traffic flow (cars use it as a short cut to go between Rock Creek Parkway and Dupont).
One thing I didn’t notice in the pics, which was much more apparent in-person, was the existence of the covered garage underneath! That’s a nice little benefit and it’s sort of hidden beneath the house so you don’t really notice it.
I’m sure this place will sell quickly.
You’ll also notice the sandbags you have to drag out every time it rains to keep the garage from flooding.
