This house is $150,000 cheaper than this recent GDON also from Cleveland Park and looks to have more space as well… this would seem to be the better deal, I’d say:

No one that lives in $1.7 million house with window a/c units does so voluntarily.
My guess is that running HVAC ducts was impossible or destroyed the character of the rooms. Expense should not have been an issue with a property that valuable.
Awesome house nonetheless. But, if I was spending $1.7 million, I’d want central air.
It sez this house HAS central AC. The only window unit appears to be in the basement
I’d buy it for the stepchild’s room with hunter green carpet alone!
Looks like a generic suburban mcmansion to me. For 1.7M you ought to be able to get a really special place.
You are right. That house in Reston wouldn’t be half that much. But it is in the center of Cleveland Park, a 5 minute walk from the Cleveland Park metro.
Hence…the cost.
Or you could buy one of the other houses for sale in that exact same neighborhood and price range that doesn’t look like a generic suburban mcmansion.
I’m not saying 1.7M is too much for a house in Cleveland Park. I’m saying 1.7M is too much for this house in Cleveland Park. Spend the extra $150K and get the one Jay linked.
