The underlying mortgage part of the coop fee will go down over time and turn into equity....
No wonder he’s so depressed….
That might be the ugliest $2.5 million house that I’ve ever seen.
Ugh! I admit it…I expected more. Geezus, that needs a hell of a lot of work. I agree with GuinessPhish…it’s no wonder he’s depressed!
Yeah, right, like I’m gonna buy a house without knowing the address.
And as an aside, I had no idea that Congressman Jackson was such a huge Bruce Lee fan.
address is in the listing. It’s just south west of Dupont Circle
I believe it’s across the street from the O St Mansion around the corner from Hopkins on O.
Wow. That’s awful. Can’t beat the location so it will be snapped up, but it needs WORK.
Wow. Awful.
Ugly….has re received an indictment yet?
horrific….
i thought he lived in ledroit. or someone in the jackson clan did.
His father owned a house just off 4th near Howard. Not sure if he still does but I used to run into his mother in law all the time when I lived just near by. Really nice lady.
Such potential…what horrible decor…
just like my house!
cooking in that kitchen would make me depressed too… was this place exposed to the elements? why are their vines growing in the hallway?
What’s up with the security cameras outside. Was he paranoid as well?
It’s at 2034 O Street and went into MLS 9 days ago but was removed last night…perhaps because of the attention it suddenly received from Chicago press yesterday?
this guy is only a few years older than me. how could he POSSIBLY have that taste?
My guess is that he probably inherited it and doesn’t have the cashflow to renovate (which would probably cost at least $700K).
Don’t get the vitriol. He’s dealing with heavy mental health issues, unenviably in the public eye. Some of the comments here are notably piggish and insensitive.
oh jesus, we’re just talking about the house. lighten up.
+1,000,000,000….thank you!
that’s complete BS. Many comments make reference to depression in a mocking way.
Yeah — the house is comically overpriced. . . real classy to give it tabloid treatment PoP btw
Comically overpriced? I don’t think so. It’s big by DC standards and in the most expensive part of the city. It’s overpriced, but not too far off the mark.
many=2. okay.
I am partly with you. I have a very good friend that has struggled with depression for years and it really is a terrible disease. That being said, I tend to make fun of absolutely everything in a non-mean spirited way.
My goodness, the way you people were talking about it I was expecting worse.
So it’s not newly renovated, staged, or professionally photographed. Probably the family felt the cachet associated with the owner was enough to sell the house without those things.
The crazy vines and the bathroom wallpaper are a bit out there, but the rest of the house looks fine to me. We’re so used to seeing properties that have been spiffed up for the sale that we turn up our noses when we see one that looks lived-in. I guarantee most people’s homes would look just as bad if someone with a cheap camera took a few snapshots of it in whatever its current state is.
Someone who stands to make commission on a $2.5 million home can and should take better pictures than that.
I never understood why anybody would hire someone to list their million dollar place, and the person takes bootleg iphone pics!
OMG I want that wallpaper in the bathroom!!!!!!!!!
