9th and Rhode Island Ave, NW
Back in July we noted the transformation of the back half of the former “Slum Historique” building at 9th and Q St, NW. Now the front half at 9th and Rhode Island, Ave is looking equally as nice. Looks like it’ll be 2 apartments upstairs plus retail space on the first floor. Looking forward to seeing who takes the retail space. I can’t believe how great this corner now looks. Amazing.

Hope you get her back soon
Unfortunately, many of the older residents would prefer empty storefronts over anything...
I had a Yorkie and it pains me to recall thoughts of when my see you next Tuesday gf left...
I hope your prayers are answered.
Our thoughts are with you.
Love it! Equally excited to see who will take advantage of the retail space.
There’s not a coffee shop within 1 block of this, is there? So, there you have it!!
This brings a tear to my eye….one of the most substantial blights in Shaw has finally arrived.
It looked better before they painted it gray.
someplace that serves breakfast to go – please! Bagels would be even better.
Chipotle.
I now hear the retail space could become a barbershop.
-1. I was hoping for a retail establishment that would help to pull the neighborhood up investment-wise, and serve as a springboard for additional desirable businesses. I have yet to see a barbershop in the Shaw/Logan/Mt. Vernon area that looks very inviting. Let’s put a cupcake businesses in there as a place holder! Or maybe an ice cream shop — Rocky Rhode Dairy Dip? Who’s with me?
