If you have any fun or interesting animal/pet photos please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit.

“Sassy, being the best cat ever in Logan Circle.”

“Saba the Great Dane from Navy Yard waiting for her morning walk.”

“Minnie Pooper of Capitol Hill”

“This is Guinness, cooling off in Meridian Hill Park”

Anyone know any bully breeders in or around the DC area? I’m interested in one, and I’d like to find a fairly local breeder.
Check out Washington Animal Rescue League, Washington Humane Society, or any other local rescue group – you are guarenteed to find a bully. Washington Humane Society will sometimes waive the adoption fee because there are so many bully-breed dogs in the shelter.
Please use Warl or Washington Humane Society. The last thing the DC area needs is people to be consciously breeding pitbulls, there are plenty already here who would love to meet you and join the family!
Check out Mid Atlantic Bully Buddies! It’s a great collection of foster homes in the area that take in rescued bully breeds and mixes. They work hard to get to know each dog and potential owner so that they can make a good match. http://www.midatlanticbullybuddies.org/MABB/Adoptable_Dogs_PF.html
I hadn’t thought about this before – Great Danes all (except for this one) must get a pretty severe ear clipping to have those big standing up ears. Never seen one natural before.
Ears were first cropped to prevent ripping during boar hunt (GD’s ears bleed really heavily when cut), but now it’s all cosmetic. The breeder cuts about 1/2 of the ear off, and after 8-10 days the ears are taped rigidly for about 6 months. The dressing has to be changed and cleaned periodically. Just a horrible thing to do to your dog.

That Sassy looks JUST like my Eleanor!
you have awesome taste in music Minnie
Cute bichon that Minnie. Looks very similar to what mine did many moons ago. *sniffle*
Saba is a beauty! How old is she?
She is 22 months old.
Our Great Dane, Duke, is about the same age! Do you take him to a specific dog park? I’m sure playing with a dog his own size would blow Duke’s mind!
Yeah, I usually take her to the Garfield park. She likes to play a lot but I have to watch for small dogs. She can accidentally step on them and hurt them.
Love that photo of Guinness!
Aw, Guinness!
Sassy reminds me of one of my childhood kitties, Vincent van Gogh, but the ears are a bit different. Very pretty kitty.
Loving the dogs too, very cute pictures.
morrissey!
