  • I believe this apartment is in Park View or Columbia Heights — take your pick.

Not Pleasant Plains, which ends at Harvard Street.

    • Yep, Pleasant Plains stops at Harvard, and Park View doesn’t begin until you set foot on the eastern side of Georgia Avenue. So, it’s really Columbia Heights, albeit on the very eastern border of it.

    • I’ve always considered it Columbia Heights, although right on the edge. Some of the CoHi crowd get fussy about the boundaries, especially this close to Georgia Ave. -Pleasant Plains must be PoP’s idea?

    • According to the tax records this is in ‘Columbia Heights’.

    • Dan has this right. It’s Pleasant Plains all the way.

  • I love that building and looked at a condo in there years ago, but that price is way too rich for my blood and would’ve been more than my monthly mortgage payments on the 2BR unit I was considering buying.

This is about the same price as 2BRs in the freaking Allegro.

  • considering that you have crack heads and dealers right outside your door this is a little overpriced… it’s not bad but the safety issue is high… this is right in the heart of the worst part of Georgia… honestly… has anyone ever walked by this building… shady people everywhere.

    • The same was said about 14th not too many years ago.
With The Heights going up across Lamont, The Ave nearly finished up Georgia Ave, Mothership (featured here last week) across GA… Georgia Avenue’s changing and getting better all the time.

      • the ave is house more lower income people, its not going to gentrify the area.

        • Wrong. This has been discussed here before. And even if it does have some low income among the market rate apartments, it’s much better than the empty lot and building that was there or the homeless shelter that had been planned for that corner.

          • The Avenue is 100% reserved for people at 60% AMI or less. It’s not mixed income. The owners are marketing it to Park Morton residents displaced by the impending redevelopment of that complex.

      • IMO, the same can and should still be said of 14th St. Besides we’re talking about renting here, not buying, so what the area *might* look like 5-7 years from now is not your typical renter’s concern.

  • I was inside this building when it was an empty cavernous industrial building with skeletons of machinery in 1999 – it was to house a “innovation hotel” named “Young Technocrats” – then -oops- the bust happened.

  • They lost me with “common hot tub.” I never should read these things when I’m eating.
