The Getaway

8:00pm – 10:00pm | FREE!The Getaway is hosting another open mic this Wednesday from 8-10. Its a chill, mellow atmosphere and its a great place to showcase your talents, regardless of your level. Just bring your guitar, banjo, cello, or even just your voice. If you plan on playing the piano, we already have one ready for you to play in-house. Poets and comedians are also welcome!
Every musician is guaranteed two songs but depending upon turnout, you may be able to play more.
If you dont want perform on stage, bring a few friends and sit back and enjoy music from local DC musicians. Rail drinks are $5 and $4 beers are available.

Ouch! I would have loved to have known about this event before it happened! I live nearby and it sounds like fun – but maybe at least a day’s notice? You’re posting at 5 for an 8:00 start?
Agreed. This stuff is posted way too late to actually plan to go to it more often than not.
All of these events are posted on the calendar in the “events” tab above. I think PoP just picks one a day that he likes in order to spotlight it, but it’s posted in the calendar before this post goes live.
