From WMATA:
Metrobus routes 90, 92, 93, 96, and X3 will return to their regular routes in both directions along 18th Street, Northwest, between Florida Avenue and Columbia Road beginning Sunday, Aug. 12.
The buses will resume making stops on 18th Street NW at California Street, Belmont Street and Columbia Road, and on U Street NW at Florida Avenue. Buses had been detoured to Columbia Road, and Florida Avenue at T Street and 18th Street.
The detours have been in place since April 2011 for a DC Department of Transportation streetscape project on 18th Street in Adams Morgan.

but the vets who died gave you the right to voice your opinion. God Bless them
i'm guessing they put in some good sound buffering windows? fl ave is LOUD.
^yes. The only danger at this location is being run over by a motorist from Maryland.
Faison's writeups make me crazy. And not in a good "I'm crazy for buying this house!" way.
The Dancing Crab's commercials have to be the worst I've ever seen. The owners saying,...
I rode the 96 down to U Street like 2-3 weeks ago, and it went down 18th instead of that detour route.
This is great news! Now if only they would restore the L2 route too.
The L2 reroute is actually permanent. Sorry…
what…say it ain’t so!
Yeah, it’s so. And it’s even worse. During the detour but prior to this permanent change, the bus would still travel northbound on 18th until Florida, where it would join the 90s buses on the detour. Southbound it had to turn on 17th from U Street because the right turn onto 18th was too tight.
Now it avoids 18th altogether and travels along Connecticut. Northbound it bears right at the Hilton and turns left onto Adams Mill at 18th. Southbound it turns onto Columbia from Adams Mill and goes to Connecticut.
As far as I can tell, there is no bus service on 18th from south of Dupont Circle to California Street. To add insult to injury, as of last week they hadn’t taken the bus stop signs down along 18th from Riggs to Florida, and I’ve seen people waiting for a bus that will never come.
Yeah – I’m bummed about the L2 as well. I live on California St a 1/2 block from 18th and the L2 was perfect…
I wrote WMATA asking them to put up a notice about the 17th Street detour, which wasn’t announced. They acknowledged receipt of my message and assigned me a case number, but didn’t respond. I’ve seen them put laminated messages on other stops about temporary detours, so I’m not sure why they couldn’t do so in this case.
Thank goodness. I’ve been screwed over a couple times because of the rerouting.
