A great addition to the neighborhood.
There are several (it’s a local chain) in the area. I’ve only been to the one on Barracks Row, but I loved it. Would be great to have in ANY neighborhood!
It’s awesome. This is the fast food version of the sit-down place from Barracks Row. It works like Chipotle – you pick a pita, salad, or rice, then pick your meat, sauces, and other items that go on it. Prices are reasonable (~$7) and the food is great. I’ve had lamb, chicken, and lamb meatballs, and all are great.
I think it’s good but with all the fast casual in CH ( Chipotle, Five Guys, Petes, Potbelly, Panera, Panda Express, and soon Lime Fresh, etc) I kind of wish they had put one of their Cava Mezze sit-down restaurants in CH instead of their fast food concept.
+1. Was so excited when I heard about it originally because I thought it was going to be like Cava Mezze.
Oh, my mistake – I thought it was the same, sit-down experience as Barracks Row. Sorry!
I wish we in logan could trade you some sit down places for some fast casual places. I hate that I can never get good walking around food on 14th south of the places at U
I’ve been there a few times. The rice bowl with chicken is my favorite so far. If you love lamb, then you’ll probably like the meatballs. Otherwise, I don’t think they’re worth the extra cost.
I’ve only had the salads (3 times) and each time has been average and bland. The spreads they use for the salad just doesn’t work – I think a dressing would be more applicable (A circular ice-cream-ish scoop of spread on one side of the bowl sucks).
I LOVE Cava on Barracks Row but the flavors they put out from that location does not exist here. For real adult bold flavors, you really need to head to ‘bees, you guys.
They definitely have dressing available, fyi.
You mean the condiment cup of oil? Their menu does not give a “dressing” option for a salad –> Pick 1) Salad 2) dip/spread 3)meat or falafal 4) toppings
There isn’t a “choice of salad dressing” and I have never been asked if I want dressing. 3 times.
What am I missing?
Feel like I could drink a thousand beers, you guys.
Astute observaish
Have a couple of ritas at chilis first, you guys.
Real Bad Boys lookin’ to get conversational skip the ‘ritas and bring a top shelf marg in to the john, you guys.
This has quickly become my favorite fast food option in the neighborhood. The salads are awesome and it’s provided another option (maybe tamp down the line at Chipotle a bit). The salads and toppings have been fresh, the topping options are endless, and they’re really generous with how many you can add to your salad. Yeah, it’s a “Mediterranean” Chipotle, but they seem to be good at it.
Awesome awesome spot.
I like this much better than Roti – their falafel is superior, and love the harissa spread!
Love it. My only complaint is that they are too skimpy with the spreads. I want more hummus with my falafel.
Ask for two scoops of something! They will oblige.
I really like this place! I’ve only tried the chicken and falafel, both were really tasty. I like all the spreads but sometimes I pick some rather interesting flavor combos. My favorites are the crazy feta, spicy red sauce, tzatziki.
It’s good, but there is something missing and I can’t put my finger on it.
The lamb meatballs were quite tasty. I generally agree with the other commenters about the amounts and pungency of the spreads, but these are things that can be adjusted over time – the basic idea and execution is solid. The atmosphere is nice, and it fits well with the rest of CH. It’ll be nice when they finally open the Tenleytown location as well.
Actually, one thing they should work on – the spreads/toppings should be labeled so I know what I’m getting into.
It’s ok, but not great. I second the opinion that a sit down place would have been nice (though that corner is not the correct location for it), and I am keeping my mind open about Lime. Suits my tastes much better than Chipotle, and feels healthier than 5 guys or the like so I’ll grab it on my way home occasionally, but my food has always been cold (3 or 4 times) or dry (for the falafel and the lamb, they were both cold and dry). I stick to the Minis and get the meatballs and a bunch of different spreads.
My favorite part is that everything is compostable!
super big fan.
I love their salads – nice and big with lots of yummy toppings like how salads should be, and they’ve inspired me to start putting hummus on the ones I make at home.
Not sure if they are still doing this, but for a while after they first opened they wouldn’t tell you the lamb (and some of the other meats) cost extra, then you’d get hit with a larger bill than you expected. To their credit, they did correct my bill once I pointed it out.
Delicious but expensive – about $9 for a smallish wrap similar to what you can get at Roti for $6.75
Also, I was kind of annoyed that they wouldn’t put rice in the wrap – Roti does.
