Do people really get a new bed with every new relationship? Sounds expensive…
No, or perhaps not typically. But I happen to be the “new, albeit unexpected partner” and I also happen to have very particular preferences and needs regarding bedding. My partner (the seller… or i suppose giver in this case) has been able to satiate all of my bedding needs thus far… except the issue of the bed itself. I can attest to the claim that this bed has not been used much, definitely not by me. I have no doubt it will make some lucky indvidual… or individuals very happy.
Just out of curiosity, are you contributing financially to the replacement bedding?

What was the problem with the old mattress/bed — too firm? Too soft? Too small?

Is this a bed frame or a mattress/box spring? Hard to tell from the photo.
Looked like a full frame and mattress when I passed by earlier today. IKEA, but seemed to be in good shape.
Looked comfy when I passed it and did indeed look new.
