Dear PoPville,
There was an incident at L’Enfant metro station his morning. I was going down the escalator from the Green platform to the blue/orange around 8:45 and an escalator had been shut off and there was a woman on the ground with a towel over her leg and metro employees around. There was blood splatter at the bottom of the escalator and there was also another woman on the bench with her leg propped up and an officer in fatigues was holding a towel over her leg. Anyone know exactly what happened?

this is great! welcome back!
Hope you get her back soon
Unfortunately, many of the older residents would prefer empty storefronts over anything...
I had a Yorkie and it pains me to recall thoughts of when my see you next Tuesday gf left...
I hope your prayers are answered.
I also just happened down the opposite escalator when it happened. Thought the screams were the usual rowdy youth until I saw people scrambling up to an injured person and blood on the ground. I didn’t go in for a closer look — there were enough people surrounding the injured that I’d have only been in the way.
(Source: I was there) A rather large piece of metal broke off the escalator as people were going down and cut a few people. I posted a picture on my twitter @MeredithWise and there’s some good ones on the UnsuckDCMetro blog too. Special thanks to the solider who stopped to help a lady apply pressure to her bleeding ankle wound.
As an aside, after reading this post, I typed “www.unsuckdcmetro.com” into my browser and was redirected to the official WMATA site. I found the real unsuckdcmetro site, but I think it’s funny that WMATA bought the name and redirected it.
Attractive soldier no less!
What can I say about Metro that hasn’t been said about Afghanistan…
It looks bombed out and depleted.
Love the reference!
Did anyone else see the cameraman being shoved in one woman’s face being wheeled out of the metro escalator on the stretcher? I knew she must have been one of the injured cause she had a bloody towel over her legs. I couldn’t get a better look at which news station it was or I would contact them immediately. Completely appalling.

Very scary – thankfully I was safely through L’Enfant before this happened.
Cha-Ching!
I have two words to say…..Johnny Cochran!
Better Call Saul!

That would be scary if he responded!
