I sort of recall around 2005.
love the watermelon house! always makes me smile when I pass it.
I <3 Watermelon house!
If I’m hanging onto any stress on my way home, I always forget it when I drive past the watermelon house. Hope they never change it.
Think they had to get a permit for that?
that house is one of my favorite things about the neighborhood
I know the owner of this house and he is a delightful and fun person.
awwwww shucks.
Ditto – owner – happy to have him in our neighborhood….
Hi! I am the owner of the house and my husband and did it in July, 2007, after unfortunately choosing the “watermelon” pink for the entire house, and correcting our horrific mistake by transitioning to the watermelon mural, which is based on an interior watermelon mural we had in another house. Glad it continues to bring such joy. It sure does to us!
If I chomp on it, I’ll sue you for dental bills
I would like to echo the question above… Did you need a permit for this? I have a neighbor who would like to do a mural on her wall and was asking about that.
I too know the owners they are 2 of my favorite people. The house holds some amazing memories for me and is just as spectacular inside add it is outside!
Wonderful house in a wonderful neighborhood. But it’s between 11th and 12 on Q St.
Whenever we have guests in town we specifically walk home via Q street to show them the Watermelon House.
