Solly’s Moving Forward on Expansion into Neighboring Madjet Ethiopian Restaurant Next Door
11th and U St, NW
Thanks to all who’ve sent emails spotting a liquor license application for Solly’s to expand into the former Madjet Ethiopian restaurant located next door at 1102 U St, NW. I’m guessing it’ll be about a month before the new space opens. We learned about some of the dining options back in March. Getting very close!

You should be lucky that Madjet closed before anyone was killed. Hands down the most disgusting kitchen I have ever come across. Be happy we got in there and cleaned it up
Searched the health inspection records and their last visit was without any major issues. Food was delicious every time I went (which was quite a few), so I don’t think I was in danger of dying but thanks for the hyperbole.
