Recess Tapas Lounge Opens Downtown on Friday, July 6

Recess Lounge of 727 15th St NW D.C. announces the opening of their new Recess Tapas Lounge. The lounge will open on Friday, July 6th (updated from original July 4th opening date).

Recess first opened as a late-night lounge in 2009 and now owners Brandon Howard and Fisayo Esconsay have partnered Chef Will Vivas to add a Tapas Lounge. Chef Vivas created a full tapas menu based on his Venezuelan roots. Guests can expect menu items like tapas Lamb con Romero, Hongos Conservados (Aged Roasted Mushrooms), and Rolled Spongecake with Nutella.

The restaurant and lounge will feature 49 seats in the dining area and 10 bar stools for casual eating. Hours for the Tapas Lounge are Tuesday through Saturday 4:30-10pm, with Happy Hour specials from 4:30-6:30. Normal lounge late hours remain Tuesday 10pm to 2am and Friday- Saturday 10pm to 3am.
