910 S St, NW
Back in Oct. 2011 we learned that this the abandoned lot/playground at 910 S St, NW was being auctioned off. Looks like Capital City Real Estate picked up another nice location. Back in June we saw that they picked up the former liquor store at 3rd and H St, NE.

Here’s what the lot looked like for years:

So why is the city not able to build a subsidized parking garage nearby on city owned...
I'm enjoying the humidity. This morning I put on a pair of pants that were very badly...

See, this is just what Courtland Milloy warned us would happen!!!11!111!
Theyre knocking down a playground, FOR KIDS! and they’ll probably put in a hybrid bike repair/craft beer house with a matching playground, FOR DOGS!
probably
My god. What’s next….a cupcakery slash bikram yoga studio?
THE HORROR!!!
Wait! Are you telling me parents didn’t love the idea of letting their kids play in a playground that looked liked a prison yard? Who knew?!?
I know the posts here are snark, but I think it’s important that any discussion of the (long, long, long overdue) redevelopment of this spot include the fact that a totally awesome kid’s playground exists a block away.
The fantastic playground nearby is due to the efforts of both old and new neighbors in the Westminster Neighborhood Assoc. There is also a great new park on French St. that is due to their neighborhood assoc. I think the vast majority of neighbors in the area are happy to see this space become a residence.
