  • Wow – gorgeous. Not the kind of place I would want to live in, but beautiful, and fun to think of elegant cocktail parties there!

  • sold.

the monthly condo fee is twice my mortgage!

  • Why do I find parquet floors in a 3.25 mil condo jarring?

  • Parquet flooring? Seriously?

  • “….release the hounds!”

  • Why is the condo fee so high? Does it include utilities/taxes…?
Just because the condo is expensive it doesn’t mean the building maintenance is exp. too, right?

    • Well, condo fees are partially based on the size of the unit, and we’re used to seeing them for 1 or 2-bedrooms, not 5…

    • Condo fee is reasonable, okay a bit high – its just that the condo is freaking huge. If the condo were 700sq ft it’d be 583/mo.
It does include heat, extra storage, newspaper service, and that ‘luxurious’ gym.

  • I wanna gallery! I wanna kitchen with a separate catering entrance! Whaaaahhhh!!!

One of my favorite buildings in DC! Loved this peak inside one of the apartments. Absolutely stunning.

Whoa, that’s a whole lotta house. Very pretty, but I wouldn’t want to clean it!

    • I doubt that the person(s) that can afford this place will be doing their own cleaning.

    • Note the service entrance and bedroom #5 – I’m guessing folks who live here will have live-in help…

  • Any you guys think I’M rich! HA!

  • Darn – I had only been budgeting for a $3500 a month condo fee. This one is just a little out of reach for me.

  • so bizarre that everything is so gorgeous but they still have the crappy old parquet flooring. yuck!

you could buy a 600k house with that condo fee so I’m curious what the amenities are…

  • Gah! I’m blinded by the white!

  • Beautiful! But I want a pool with that! Hell, I suppose I could buy my own island as a vacation spot if I had the money to buy this…

  • This place has been on the market for around 2 years now at least.

  • You may not like the idea of parquet flooring, but the type of parquet this condo has would cost about 4-5x (conservatively) to install than the cost of whatever your dream flooring is.

Each of those slats were nailed down individually. I’m actually shocked there’s no inlay around the edges, or a design in the middle of the rooms.

This isnt your 1970s parquet. Its legit and it took a lot of labor hours to put in.

  • I’m not sure I’d ever feel at home in a buildingor apartment like that. I’m willing to give it a shot, though, if someone wants to sponsor an experiment.

  • I’ve always wondered what sort of people live in that place. Clearly rich ones. But as it seems that no one ever exits or leaves that place on foot, my imagination led me to believe that one of JD Rockafeller’s great great grandkids, or a refugee prince from a foreign land, or the dowager of the Kraft empire resided there. Not someone who would post pictures to homevisit.com. That said, in the words of Liz Lemon–“I want to go there.”

  • I find the staging to be really off for a 3 Million classic older building. That design would be perfect in a new building, but a Grand Ole Dame like this needs more classic stuff. The parquet floors are beautiful but they are lost completely exposed like it was contemporary hardwood

  • Great deal if the condo fee included staffing (at least a cook)
