Erm, not over a million dollar-worthy, in my humble opinion. Looks like any McMansion in middle America. It looks like a dungeon from the outside (lack of windows) except for that modern addition. Love the outdoor space though.

Nice and mildly staged but there is nothing besides location and size that would seem to be worth $1.7 mil. I hate trying to determine from pictures but that kitchen while “nice” doesn’t look to be one in a house of that price. I don’t expect over the top but those cabinets look Ikea. And while I am sure Ikea cabines are good for what they are, I would expect more for that price.

Great place, but why not just move out of DC and get a place that big for half as much. You’re on a commuter island out there – not way to get into DC easily, parking’s probably a nightmare.

  Parking’s no problem on Nevada. This is one of the nicest neighborhoods in the area, access to Metro not withstanding. If you can afford 1.7 mil, you’re probably driving through the park into the city to work. $700 per sq/ft does look pretty pricey from the sales comps.

Does seem a bit high. I drive by here every day (Petworth-Bethesda and back) and there is definitely parking.

Not really sure, I feel like if I was going to live here, I would just go ahead and move across the border, and send my kids to MoCo schools, as opposed to the slightly worse DCPS (that are actually quite good in this area)

I am saying it should be closer to 1.5 though.

Love it. Very nice. That kind of English Tudor style doesn’t have a lot of windows. It’s a very nice example of the form. Although the exterior paint colors seem inappropriate for the style. Not that I’m a stickler for preservation, but seems like the outside would benefit from being darker and moodier.
