DPR Extends Outdoor Pool Hours for the Remainder of the week

Today DPR announced that in addition to extending 4th of July outdoor pools hours, DPR will be extending pool hours at select pools for the remainder of the week. Outdoor Pools will operate on extended hours on Wednesday, July 4th; Thursday, July 5th; Friday, July 6th; Saturday, July 7th & Sunday, July 8th in the wake of continued power outages and expected high temperatures over the weekend. Children’s pools, Spray Parks and Indoor pools will operate on their normal schedule.

EXTENDED POOL HOURS for THURSDAY, JULY 5th & FRIDAY, JULY 6th

Please note that pools typically closed on Thursdays for maintenance/cleaning – Banneker, Benning Park, Fort Stanton & Langdon Park – will be CLOSED on THURSDAY, JULY 5th ONLY. They will be open on FRIDAY, JULY 6th.

– Ward 1: Banneker Recreation Center Pool (2500 Georgia Avenue NW) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (CLOSED THURSDAY)
– Ward 2: Jelleff Recreation Center Pool (3265 S Street NW) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
– Ward 5: Harry Thomas Sr. Pool (1743 Lincoln Road, SE) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

– Ward 4: Upshur Recreation Center Pool (4300 Arkansas Avenue NW) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
– Ward 5: Theodore Hagans Jr. Pool (3201 Fort Lincoln Drive, NE) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
– Ward 7: Fort Dupont Pool (830 Ridge Road, SE) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

The following pools will close at their normal 8:00 p.m. closure time
– Ward 5: Langdon Park Pool (2860 Mills Avenue NW) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (CLOSED THURSDAY)
– Ward 6: Randall Pool (25 I Street SW) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
– Ward 7: Kelly Miller Pool (4900 Brooks Street NE) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
– Ward 8: Douglass Pool (1921 Fredrick Douglass Court SE) || Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

East Potomac Pool will RE-OPEN on THURSDAY, JULY 5th and will operate from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday.

Children’s Pools will operate on their normal schedule from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Spray Parks will operate on their normal, individual schedules.
