I think the turnover is fresh and nice, but I hope that the new tenants come up with creative alternatives to the fine dining that filled the spaces prior. Maybe rents dictate overpriced food as the only way to suceed, but if someone could come up with an overpriced supermarket or overpriced alternative social venue that would be even better.

I am excited to see Buben’s newly improved Potenza — I believe I read somewhere that that space (which is huge) will have two new restaurants… Like the Riot Act “closing” this is probably a positive for the ‘hood.

While I agree that Zola is overpriced, I definitely enjoyed my meal when I ate there. And I also find Zengo to be really tasty (yes, also overpriced). Don’t expect there to be anything cheaper coming in around that the area though…

Good riddance to Zola. Pricey and not very good in a prime location. A product of a time when mediocrity could thrive on the DC restaurant scene. Hope Zengo is next.
