PoP Preview: Kangaroo Boxing Club – Columbia Heights’ Newest Neighborhood Bar

3412 11th St, NW

Back in Feb. 2012 I shared the news that the PORC food truck was opening a brick and mortar restaurant in Columbia Heights in the old Aquario space at 3412 11th St, NW (next to Meridian Pint.) We previously learned:

Brought to you by the founders of popular food truck, Purveyors of Rolling Cuisine (PORC), Josh Saltzman and Trent Allen; along with fellow U of Michigan alum Chris Powers and DC-native Peyton Sherwood.

Kangaroo Boxing will be the establishment everyone wishes for their own neighborhood. A nice relaxed atmosphere, quality and consistent menu options and a solid selection of beer and wine.

The name, Kangaroo Boxing Club, comes from long-running, drink-infused, late-night bar discussions on the fact that, without technology, man is physically unable to compete with the majority of the animal kingdom. How would you win a match with a kangaroo?

I’m happy to say they’ll be open very soon. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek and share some photos. Stay tuned for the opening and the full menu in the next couple of weeks.

Lots more photos after the jump.

Beautiful woodwork

Those who’ve walked by 11th St, in the past few months probably saw these blocks of wood getting hand carved:

The space is covered in awesome old photos:

You can bring games:

Of course a jukebox:

But beware:

Great bay window seating:

Stay tuned for full beer and drink list:

Hard to believe this is what it used to look like:

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
