I used to tutor a girl whose mother was Vietnamese and her grandmother went back to the old country for extended vists because of the cost. Maybe that is what is going on.

For starters, Vietnamese want pho any time of year. As do all who appreciate the value of a tried and true hangover cure. And being able to slurp it in an air-conditioned space.
