Lebanese Taverna Closing for Renovations in Woodley Park on July 3rd

2641 Connecticut Ave, NW

Tom Sietsema tweets the news yesterday:

“The DC branch of @lebanesetaverna is closing for a “family-friendly” redo July 3. Coming this fall (maybe Oct.): more fish and a new bar.”

Lebanese Taverna is located at 2641 Connecticut Ave, NW. We judged them back in March 2009. You can see their menu here.

Good to see some places in the neighborhood starting to step up their game. Now if only we could get the “Organic” Italian (Indian) Place to close. I will continue my campaign of muttering “don’t do it” when I walk by and see tourists congregating by the menu.

    Won’t you join me?

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but both the service and quality of food had gone downhill the last time I ate there about three years ago, and I haven’t been back since then. Hopefully the renovations help to fix their problems.
