Question to residents - thank you in advance. I am considering purchasing a 1st level...
Thank you for this, I had no idea about this type of thing. It also makes me think that...
Disgusting.
It'll take a while. After I moved a block down the road, a friend called me a week before...
*unfriend*
The kitchen and basement need to be gutted. Probably the bathrooms, too. The paneling in the family room is scary. The garage needs to be torn down and the back yard needs a ton of landscaping.
And if I had $2million dollars, I’d be on the phone with a real estate agent right now.
If I had 2+ million dollars, we’d be in a bidding war.
No way! 70s themed parties ftw!
More square footage than the other one on Neward that that they are asking $3.8 for, which I still say is crazy talk. I could see this being a $2.2 million dollar house when done. By the way, I was still interested in the other one on Neward and pulled some redfin records for houses of that size. Reallly nothing outside of G’town goes for over a thousand dollars a square foot and that is even a stretch. If it were between this and the other one on Newark I would take this one any day of the week.
OMG, looooove the gold rotary phone on a folding TV-tray in the hallway in the basement!
Awesome house esp to be right in the middle of the city! Great front porch, and that is an awesome backyard. Of course the kitchen and other rooms need work, but this place would shine with the right renovations.
Drool. I would love nothing more than to have $2m for this house. Although, the family room as it stands will probably haunt my dreams tonight.
Sigh. This is basically the house of my dreams. I can just imagine sitting out on that porch on summer evening with some iced tea (or mojito). The kitchen and family rooms need some TLC but other than that this house is perfect. If only had an extra $2 million…
I’m always curious about these giant old homes in Cleveland Park. I used to do a lot of catering and know the “old guard” lifestyle there – but nowadays – do families with children buy them? Do kids run around and visit each other and just hang out on those porches like they used to? Do neighbors ever even see each other? I just can’t figure out the dynamics of the neighborhood.
I love the photo of the basement—three side chairs lined up in a row, beside a tv tray. It’s such fabulous staging that it makes me want to grab two friends and sit there! I could sit by the tv tray and pass drinks to them.
And the blue couch is insanely cool!
the staging of the attic is a little creppy but I love this house! I like that the kitchens and baths haven’t been redone yet, that way you can remodel them exactly as you want…money no object of course.
Apparently the price was just cut from $2.1 to $1.9… must be something up with it.
That something is called being over priced. This house is in better condition than a gut job but the house on Neward from last week for example, sold for 1.3 as a total gut job. That means this house, which needs a renovation is probably closer to the 1.6 range in its current condition, maybe a little less.
This is definitely a snatcher upper. Great house. AND they kept the radiators in. Love those huge rooms. Yesssss.
Yes- completely worth it, especially if you get to keep the blue couches.
