I agree, I don't think there is anything particularly unique or cool about the existing structure. That said, I hope the developer puts up something that blends well with the neighborhood.

Glad to hear this. I, too, have always wondered about this prime real estate, which is woefully underutilized. They can still keep a decent-sized green space, while turning this into four large condos / apartments, and probably enhance the physical appearance of the corner in the process. Curious to hear what their plans are, and in particular how much of the footprint they intend to utilize.

Seems in general to be a TON of residential construction on (or just off) Park Road between 14th and 13th. There is the huge gut rehab next to the Park Triangle building, which I believe has been discussed on this site before. The building next to Park Market (which is the last hold-out, basically, of the old Columbia Heights ... if they put in some windows and stocked some better quality products, they'd make a killing) seems to be in the midst of some sort of renovation. And the very large, long-vacant apartment building near the large pink house and next to the Wisteria is finally seeing some activity, at least, there is always a huge dumpster in front of it, which seems perpetually filled with debris, so some sort of gut renovation is happening. Does anyone know what is happening with that large renovation?
