A friend of mine, who is actually an artist, says trash – I, who have zero artistic skills, think it’s art. What say you – sculpture or trash?

i'm guessing they put in some good sound buffering windows? fl ave is LOUD.
^yes. The only danger at this location is being run over by a motorist from Maryland.
Faison's writeups make me crazy. And not in a good "I'm crazy for buying this house!" way.
The Dancing Crab's commercials have to be the worst I've ever seen. The owners saying,...
It’s rusting onto the rocks – trash.
Trashy art?
It’s both!
This appeared at the time that they were doing the road remodeling project here, which involved removing the old street car tracks. I think this is one of said tracks.
Neen is right – this is an old street car rail. They’ve popped up in a number of places since the AdMo big dig, including some bars.
I’d wondered about that. There’s one in the front of the building next to mine on Calvert in AdMo. Thanks for the info!
Trash.
Paint it bright red and then it is art!
I passed this on Friday afternoon and thought to myself, “wow, finally some lawn art that no one will want to steal!”
Trash!
It reminds me of 9/11.
Dig it. Art and Artefact.
If it’s on private property, they can call it art, or even Arthur for all I care.
I love and hate Duchamp for giving the world the concept of “found art.” Even if this supposed to be “found art” it fails in this context.
Piece of rusting metal in the front yard = trash.
No sub-text, no metaphor, no symmatry, no surprise.
Art is often trash.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure (or art as it might be). Art is in the eye of the beholder.
It’s not really a question. It’s art.
We in the art business call something like this a “found object.” So it’s kind of both, depending on your interpretation.
