Update: checked out Pulpo for dinner the other night and it really is a great addition to the Cleveland Park hood. The place was spacious, which I really appreciate. Too often in DC restaurants I find myself unwittingly in the middle of an awkward first date with how close the tables are. Having never had octopus before, I had to try the Pulpo. It was awesome! As were the goat cheese and crispy brussel sprout dishes! 2 people were full off of 4 plates, which speaks highly to the portion size. Good portions, great service, and a non-pretentious ambiance gives this place a thumbs up in my book. I'll definitely be back!

I think it's great that there's something opening up in that space! Cleveland Park needs new blood. This is exciting. Anyone know if there are any happy hour specials? I love checking out new places for happy hour!

It's not a slice of tomato...its tomato rubbed onto the bread. It sounds cheap, but if you're using high quality olive oil, high quality bread, and high quality tomato the costs add up (with just a few ingredients you can't skimp).

Went last night and actually the 7 buck bread was decent--we got it with the pricey Serrano ham and received 4 large pieces of bread/ham, which seemed a fair value (for DC). The patatas bravas and meatballs were just ok, but the cod fritters and catalan bean stew were excellent and large enough to share. The shisito peppers are akin to padron peppers, but my wife never got a "hot" one--1 in 5 or 10 are hot apparently. Yes, it's not Barcelona and the tapas aren't as cheap as there, but it's potentially solid addition to CP and we'll return to try more items once they have beer and liquor.

So I see this place will be just as loud, if not louder, than Tackle Box? Nothing but concrete on the floors and nothing on the walls to absorb sound. No thanks.
