New Cocktail Lounge Coming to Chinatown Across from the Verizon Center next to Fuel Pizza
600 F St, NW
A new cocktail lounge is coming next door to the recently opened Fuel Pizza at 600 F St, NW. A liquor license application says:
“This is a new Class “C” Tavern. This venue will be a Cocktail Lounge. There will be light food service. Entertainment will include recorded music and live music. There is a cover charge.
The seating capacity is 45. The total capacity is 144.”

That craptastic pizza place has more than one location? Their pizza’s always sitting on the counter – dry and unappealing.

Spoke with attorney handling ABC license. Establishment will be in basement of building, not next door to Fuel. Representatives will be coming to ANC 2C meeting on 06/06/12 to present their case and request ANC support for application. -Alexander M. Padro, Chair, ANC 2C
Basement makes sense, as that building abuts the Shakespeare Theatre Co’s Harman Theatre.
There are still a couple of floors above Fuel, so it would be interesting to see if more restaurant/retail moves in, or if it just winds up more office space.
Cover charge. Yeah, right.
Yeah, that cover charge won’t last. I can’t think of a single bar in this town that I’d pay to get into.
