Back in early March we checked in on TEL’VEH coming to 401 Massachusetts Ave, NW in Mt. Vernon Square. This is the place that will be a:
“European Café with wine bar. Breakfast and lunch with bakery.”
Since March, serious progress has been made. I stopped in last weekend and snapped a couple of shots. Looks like they’ll be open in a few weeks. The bar looks great (notice the wine dispensers):

And I’m eager to see how the main dining room turns out:

Basem, the landscape architect who designed the garden, has done quite a few yards in...
17th and L st is considered a "neighborhood"?
Plum and Millie are so cute!
BloomBars is a gem. It's a kid's musical circus houseparty. John has gotten everything...
Re-reading my comment, it probably doesn't make sense to say that the parking spot wasn't...
401 Mass Ave NW is the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood, not Mount Vernon Square.
Looks awesome!!! This little section of Mass. is going to have a lot of good options in the next year. There’s the Carving Station (?) and then some pizza place going into 300 Mass. I believe. And I think a restaurant is eventually going into the little old building that is surrounded by condos on all sides.
Whatever happened to the club that was going to go in in the tall building next to the liquor store and Papa Johns? Levels Lounge or something?
And by good you mean over-priced to cater to the convention center crowd that doesn’t know any better, right?
Carving station is under construction as we speak, looks like the pizza place will be called FAI Pizza:

Not sure why they can’t get anything going with the new empty retail/restaurant space at ground level along Eye (between 4th and 5th St NW) of the 425 Eye building, tons of space/potential but I haven’t seen anything going in there…
I think it’s because any potential retail tenant probably wants to first see something (besides daytime parking) happening with the vacant eye-sore lots directly behind the 425 Eye building and across the street to the east. C’mon with the construction cranes, developers! Chop! Chop!
The plans are already in place, it’s just going to take a few years.
Not open yet. I walked by there this evening and there were still guys on ladders working on the interior. Looks more likely that they’ll open this weekend or maybe even next Monday.
It’s open! I just walked by and it looks very nice. Was pretty busy.
