I am also wondering what has happened to Wagamama. Maybe PoP should recap the ramen related developments in the area along with their respective statuses.

Somewhat related - my fiancee and I ate at Sakuramen on Saturday night. The place was nearly dead around 11pm: just us, a table of four, and another table of two. We ordered the mushroom buns, my fiancee had the Sakuramen (vegan), and I had the Gojiramen (pork). Buns were good but not worth $8 - one quarter portobello mushroom in each bun with some scallions and soy based sauce. The sakuramen broth was kelp based and very salty (like inside of your lips burning salty) but had a good flavor otherwise. Noodles had a good bite and ingredients were decent. Gojiramen soy-based broth was clear and actually less unctuous than Sakuramen broth, which I see as a downside. Sliced roast pork was tasty but sparse. Noodles were thinner as well, almost like angel hair pasta.

Overall, not very impressed. These guys have to know the N St NE standard they are up against and they aren't there. Hope it gets (much) better.

No booze was sold at the moment. I guess they are working on a liquor license.
