M Cafe Italian Bistro Coming to new Building at 14th and R St, NW in Logan Circle

M Cafe is coming to 1634 14th St, NW in the new Aston Condos. A liquor license application says:

“New Italian Bistro serving contemporary Italian cuisine. Sidewalk Café with 56 seats. Seating Capacity of 96 and Total Capacity is 119.”

It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to Posto located nearby at 1515 14th St. NW.

This is the place that used to be in Friendship Heights. I think they closed because of rent issues. I think I read that Eric Holder had a birthday dinner with the President there. Anyway, it should be a good, if expensive, addition to the neighborhood.

Wow-I’ve had the food here and it’s actually really good. It’s not cheap but it’s not stratospheric or overpriced for the quality ($20 is the top price for an entree). I always intended to go back but haven’t really had occasion to gnosh in Friendship Heights. Another win for the neighborhood…

I think there’s a typo…lunch and dinner entrees same aroung $20?

Hopefully that block shapes up. There’s been lots of robberies, assaults, a couple shootings and anti-gay attacks around there.

I really think that the violence stemming from the R ST low income housing will shut this place down. I definitely don’t want to sit outside right there.
