This is a quick flip – looks like the foreclosure was in January, for a lot less.

I’ve got no idea if it’s a GDoN, but I am curious as I’ve got a friend who lives down the block and I’m curious to see which way prices are moving in the immediate area.

I mostly agree with you, Anon3 – this is a “get what you pay for” deal, and it is getting harder and harder to find any SFH in this price range.

But did you see that kitchen? I thought I had the world’s crappiest kitchen, but this one is so narrow I wonder if you can even open appliance doors all the way, much less have two people.

It might be possible to open it up, but I couldn’t get a sense of the layout from the photoshow and, as Anonymous 2:18 said, some of the rooms look like they don’t have any change to spare!

I think this sounds like a good deal given the location, proximity to transit, and all of the other perks Brightwood has to offer (see today’s Friday’s Question thread). If anything I would say that the carpet and bathrooms are the least desirable part of it. I have to disagree to your comment about the space not being functional. This looks like a great first buy for a couple or small family, or anyone, really, but those two buyer ‘types’ come to mind.

Every room in this house is too small to be functional. The price, for what the house is on paper, is great. But the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms are too tight to be useful.

I think a 3br for under $400 that close to transit (the 70/71/79 are pretty frequent), that doesn’t appear to be in need of major work, is a good deal. There aren’t any pictures of the yard, but central air, off-street parking, etc. are things not always seen in that price range.
