A friend of mine went to the Billy Joel/Elton John show here a year or two ago and said that the sound was horrible, and she is by no means an audiophile

No word yet on whether he will change the words of a famous song to give it a local flavor …. There’s a darkness on the edge of [Nats]town ….

IMHO, Springsteen is the most overrated figured ever in rock history. I just don’t get why people love his music so much (although I do like the album Nebraska.)

(jaw dropped to floor). That’s some ballsy talk.

Smart choice to keep yourself anonymous… ;)

+1. As my 5-year-old likes to say, “You’re not the boss of me.”

    • Clarence

I have to disagree. One thing I have noticed about all of the all time greats, of which I include Springsteen, is that they have a truly unique sound. I would love to go to this show.

No one under 35 will even care he’s coming….

Just goes to show how tastes differ – I think ‘Nebraska’ is Springsteen’s weakest effort yet. For what it’s worth.

    • caballero

      Overrated? Yes.
The most overrated in rock history? Nah.
Who is wildly overrated today? The Arcade Fire.

      • KenyonDweller

God, I may hate Arcade Fire more than Springsteen.

        • Anonymous

I love Springsteen but don’t know who arcade fire is, which might prove the guy’s point about me being old. Damnit.

      • Anonymous

Arcade Fire was last cool when you had to order their first album as an import because it hadn’t been released in the U.S. yet.

    • Michael

^^^This is something that someone whose favorite Springsteen album is “Nebraska” would say.

If you want to go–and I really think you should–be online as soon as tickets go on sale. DC is notorious for problems with scalpers and bots buying up all the tickets for big name shows. I tried to get tickets to Springsteen at the Verizon Center, but couldn’t even get into the system for the on-sale. Tickets.com should be interesting. It’s really an amazing show! I saw him in Philly a couple weeks ago. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce!

I am still coming down from the recent and INCREDIBLE Verizon Center show and will do whatever it takes to be at Nats Park. All of the stadium shows of Bruce that I attended, for example, Fed Ex Field and Hershey Stadium had great sound. He has stated that outdoor shows are much less of a challenge than basketball arenas which create echo problems. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW! No one leaves with their feet on the ground
