“Skanderbeg (black) and Cleo, Bloomingdale”

“Scout cleaning his nose in Capital Hill”

“Bermuda is a 7 year old spayed (indoor) female with a beautiful white coat with highlights of brown and black on her face and tail, and brown highlights on each of her hind legs. She is a really laid back, relaxed, mellow girl that does not require a lot of attention. Bermuda enjoys catnip, lounging quietly in the warm sunlight, sitting on a warm lap, having her head scratched, and occasionally curling up next to you at bedtime. She is very low maintenance and litter box trained. Bermuda would prefer to be in an adult only household and an only kitty. Bermuda is being fostered in my home through the Washington Humane Society.
Please contact Yolanda at [email protected] if you are interested.”

  • I can nearly hear Skanderbeg’s meow 🙂 What’s the name mean/where does it come from? Sounds like a Norse god to me.

And I love Bermuda…too bad she wants to be an only kitty.

    • I volunteer at Washington Humane Society and Bermuda is a total sweetheart. Older cats are the best, and she needs a good forever home!

I’m not the owner, but “Skanderbeg” is the name of Albania’s national hero. He was a 15th-century lord who fought against the Ottomans for over two decades. Interestingly enough, the name means “Lord Alexander” from the Turkish “Iskender Bey” (Iskender being the Turkish version of Alexander).

It’s a pretty sweet name regardless, though!

  • Cats like Bermuda are the best…I adopted a 7-year-old cat years ago. I didn’t have to litter train him, socialize him, or put up with kitten antics. I highly recommend adopting older animals. If my cat and Bermuda didn’t want to be only children, I’d seriously consider this.

I prefer grown pets too, but my wonderful kitty litter trained herself cuz she is that wonderful! (ok, ok, she probably learned from her mother who my roommate was catsitting for, but I hated that cat, so she gets no credit.)

  • That first picture absolute BEGS for some dialogue.

Whatever the conversation I am sure Skanderbeg said some totally embarrassing and Cleo is just try to disassociate herself by hiding her face and hoping no one noticed.

    • Hahaha!

I had a similar thought, except that it was that Skanderbeg was hamming it up for the camera, and Cleo, embarrassed, was thinking, “Not this again!” and hiding her head with her paw.

  • Oh Scout, I just want to give your little nose a smooch! Beagles rock.

Whenever I see a cat yawn I want to put my finger in their mouth. I’m not a good enough human to just take their photo.
