  • What stress. Jeeze. Good that the injured may not die. Wonder who the perp was running around the neighborhood with a loaded gun?

  • Geez didn’t take long to get our first shooting of the year in DC. At least it isn’t the first murder of the year.

  • All this–yet murder rates are the lowest since Pre-Nixon, etc etc. The projects are right up the street, hopeless folks remain in pockets around CH, Parkview, Pleasant Plains etc. This is what happens. It becomes a dangerous spectator sport. Largely we are watching folks commit suicide in slow motion; no one is targeting us, but they endanger all around them. I rock between overwhelming sadness and overwhelming rage. Then I forget about it and move on with my life, which, on the whole, is great because I am a DC native living in my 102 yr old rowhouse with my family and loving it.

  • It’s not just here. Something has got to change for America to be great on the world stage. We can’t constantly have young men gunned down day after day and expect to be a world leader.

  • the housing project on that block is notorious for creating and fostering violence. When will we say enough is enough? Its time to create a mixed income community at that site like the City is doing for Park Morton on GA avenue. Please write Councilmember Graham and demand that something real finally happen at this location. No we don’t need a police spotlight out for a week or so either. We need a total change. The people who live in and around this development deserve better and can do better.
