Back in October 2009, the folks at Room 11 confirmed there were looking to expand into Jeans N Things located next door at 11th and Lamont St, NW.
Negotiations likely rivaled those of the Good Friday Accord but the glorious day has arrived! From a press release:
The owners of Room 11 (Ben Gilligan, Nick Pimentel, Paul Ruppert and Dan Searing) are pleased to announce they have signed a lease to take over the adjoining storefront at 3232 11th St NW, formerly Jeans ‘N’ Things. Construction will begin soon and the projected completion date is early summer. “The only regular complaint we get is that there are not enough seats” says Searing, “so we are looking forward to having more room to serve our loyal guests.”
I’d say this is the best news I’ve heard since, well, originally hearing about Room 11.
2012 officially off to a kick ass start!

but the vets who died gave you the right to voice your opinion. God Bless them
i'm guessing they put in some good sound buffering windows? fl ave is LOUD.
^yes. The only danger at this location is being run over by a motorist from Maryland.
Faison's writeups make me crazy. And not in a good "I'm crazy for buying this house!" way.
The Dancing Crab's commercials have to be the worst I've ever seen. The owners saying,...
where will I get my jeans and things now??? where?
Congrats to the Room 11 crew. I hope they are able to keep their current cozy feeling while seating more of us.
Amen! I am in love with this place but only wish it had more seats. Though I love the hole-in-the-wall feel, the best seats are actually at the bar; the rest of them feel a bit forgotten. I hope they figure out how to make every seat a little more desirable.
Really nice news, glad there perseverance prevailed! 11th street will have the new italian restaurant, Jackie Greenbaum’s new venture, and Margot’s Chair (or whatever the name turns out to be) in addition to this in the first half of the new year!
almost forgot about the new park on the corner of 11th and Monroe…and to use ‘their’ instead of ‘there’
Great news! Room 11 is one of my favorite spots.
Thank God!
Great for Room 11 fans, but I, for one, will miss the sexy mannequins that used to rock those Jeans . . . n Things
Great news!
Should rename it Wine and Things.
It’s a shame that retail in general seems destined to disappear from the face of the city.
