Bully! A fine looking propertah for Sheffield to store my Dusenberg whilst I take the spaniels through the pahhhhk.

anyone notice the trashy zebra and hot pink furniture with embroidered initials in the virtual tour?

This one of those posts where I think “yeah, that actually might be worth it.” Definitely a primo property in a primo location; I dig it. I do wish there were a pool, however. Without a pool, I feel like you’re never going to be able to lease the place out as a shooting location for rap videos and really leverage the investment.

How can this place be worth $8 mil when it was bought only two years ago for about half the price?

      • Anonymous

Well, it’s worth that much if somebody will pay that much, regardless of what was previously paid. But the listing also claims a complete 2011 renovation and substantial additional features. Now, I doubt that cost whoever did them $4M, but this clearly is a very high-end renovation, so I’m sure it was a 7-figure project with real value added. Also, I never discount how much the super-rich will pay for something they really covet.

yeah, lol, ugly as sin on the inside…can people afford 7 million dollar houses these days?

    • Anonymous

Yeah, Tiger’s ex-wife. But I don’t think the neighbors would take too kindly to razing the property.

  • Petworth Res

Awesome property! I love the paint colors on the main level (anyone know what they are per chance?)

My only complaint is that all of the bathroom and kitchen finishes look the same. It’s all white marble and chrome finishes in every bathroom.

  • I think it’s great! I always wonder what type of people live in these homes…apparently they have twinsies!

  • It was built in 1928 and designed by John J. Whelan. It was built for F. B. Moran McConihe.

  • MsKitty

You know, it’s pretty awesome, if not really in my budget. But the first level ceilings look/feel low. I expect 12′ plus on the first floor. And yes, it needs a pool, and a hot tub, and pony rides.

  • Jaredd

    $8M and no pool? What a rip-off.

  • That stove is worth more than my car. Well that’s not say much. That toaster is worth more than my car.

  • I guess the size, the 2-car garage, and the space for an additional 8 or so cars are the main things driving the $8M price tag. I feel like we’ve seen some pretty nice Wednesday House Porn houses that were $2M or $4M, and this house doesn’t seem to be 2-4 times more impressive than those.

On an unrelated note, did anyone else looking at the floor plans notice that there’s one bedroom that can be accessed only by going through another bedroom? Maybe both of them are still allowed to count as bedrooms, but for practical purposes, it seems like you could use only one of them as an actual bedroom.

(I think it was the room with the twins’ cribs that you’d be passing through en route to the other bedroom.)

  • I LOVE the dining room, especially that awesome ceiling. What is it?

  • AA

I need to win the lottery ASAP, I am absolutely crushing on everything about this house. I think its incredibly designed, both structurally as well as interior. I would demand that they leave everything though (I’ll freecycle that chair). And twinsies! Those kids are going to be so pissed that they didn’t get to live in those sweet digs.
