It looks really nice, and the price isn’t even that bad for what you get (though I think $2,000 would be more reasonable), but the landlord is foolish to lose out on the 40% of potential renters who have pets. I’d never lease it if my little pup wasn’t welcome. My landlord gets a renewal every year (and the stable, guaranteed, always-on-time income that provides, without the high costs of turnover) because it’s so hard to find good pet-friendly housing.

  • Good deal. We are renting an 800 square foot basement apartment for $1900 on the same block. For just a little more, you get more square footage. I would lift the “no pet” policy and charge a pet rent. The neighborhood is so pet friendly.
